Abstract

El presente trabajo pretende estudiar la situación laboral de las personas mayores de cuarenta años, describir la figura del microempresario que creó su empresa cumplida esta edad y conocer si la creación de microempresas puede ser considerada una salida profesional para estas personas que, pudiendo desarrollar por cuenta propia o en cualquier empresa su carrera profesional, son en ocasiones víctimas de discriminación por su edad. La investigación está motivada por el objetivo marcado en la Unión Europea que determina incrementar la tasa de actividad de los más mayores en un 50% antes del año 2010.
