Hinterland Portuaire : Le Nouveau Rôle Du Fer. Une Illustration Avec La Betuweroute (Pays-Bas)

Abstract

Le gigantisme maritime appelle à la massification terrestre. Le cas de la Betuweroute (aux Pays-Bas) et les projets concurrents traduisent cette lo-gique qui tend à réorganiser les hinterlands. Dans cette perspective, nous mon-trons que le transport ferroviaire de fret présente de nombreux avantages qui répondent de manière pertinente aux exigences des arrières ports : massifica-tion, régularité, fréquence et concurrence. La concurrence se trouve renforcée à la fois entre les ports (concurrence spatiale), mais aussi sur le rail (processus européen de libéralisation) ce qui favorise une plus grande compétitivité des hinterlands.
