Abstract

This paper describes a means of rapid assessment and review of simulation modelling through drawing upon the Evidence Framework Approach (EFA). The work described focuses on supporting reviewers of modelling, although the method can also be re-purposed to support modellers in the modelling process. The EFA has been used to review new ideas, several months of work, and several years of work. The paper starts by setting out the context of our work and the support provided by our academic partners. It then summarises our approach before making the case for the importance of applying the whole of our approach, through using a historical analogy. The intended means of application is then described, before mentioning two additional lenses particularly helpful to assessing simulation projects. An example of the EFA in use upon a simulation project is then provided. Finally, what has been achieved and the way ahead is discussed.
