Abstract

This paper presents a method that allows local industrial clusters to be identified and applies this method to Germany. The method is applied to all three-digit manufacturing industries in Germany. The results are used in two ways. First, they provide some information about which industries are clustering, and which are not. Second, a complete list of all local clusters that existed in Germany in 2001 and are identified by this method is given. The spatial distribution of these local clusters in Germany is discussed in the light of other studies on Germany. Brenner T. Dans un premier temps, ils fournissent des renseignements a propos des industries qui se regroupent et de celles qui ne le font pas. Dans un deuxieme temps, ils fournissent une liste detaillee de toutes les grappes locales qui existaient en Allemagne en 2001 et qui sont identifiees de cette facon. On discute de la distribution geographique de ces grappes locales en Allemagne a la lumiere d'autres etudes sur l'Allemagne. Sie wird auf alle dreistelligen herstellenden Branchen des Landes angewandt. Die Ergebnisse konnen auf zweierlei Weise angewandt werden: zunachst geben sie Auskunft daruber, welche Industrien Cluster bilden und welche nicht. Sodann wird die vollstandige Liste aller ortlich begrenzter Cluster vorgelegt, die im Jahre 2001 in Deutschland bestanden und mit Hilfe dieser Methode identifiziert werden konnen. Die raumliche Verteilung dieser ortlich begrenzten Cluster in Deutschland wird im Lichte anderer Untersuchungen uber Deutschland diskutiert. Segundo, se hace una lista completa de todas las agrupaciones locales que existian en Alemania en 2001 y se identifican mediante este metodo.
