Abstract

Zusammenfassung Trotz der guten Arbeitsmarktlage ist die Langzeitarbeitslosigkeit ein gravierendes Problem, vor allem weil sie verfestigt ist. Mehr als ein Drittel der Arbeitslosen sind dies länger als ein Jahr. Zudem gelingt es Langzeitarbeitslosen deutlich schwerer, aus der Arbeitslosigkeit heraus wieder eine Beschäftigung aufzunehmen. Ulrich Walwei hält die Erfolge der Agenda 2010 für wichtig, sieht aber auch neue Herausforderungen durch die Digitalisierung und die Globalisierung auf den Arbeitsmarkt zukommen. Zu den wesentlichen Handlungsoptionen rechnet er die Prävention durch umfassende Bildungsanstrengungen. Aber auch die Arbeitsmarktinstitutionen müssen ihrer Förderaufgabe mit einer kompetenten und intensiven Betreuung der Langzeitarbeitslosen gerecht werden.
