Abstract

The coordinated development of ecological civilization and tourism contributes to the sustainable development of the Yellow River basin. By constructing an index system and a coupling coordination model, this paper studies the spatiotemporal evolution of the coupling coordination between ecological civilization construction and tourism industry in the nine provinces of the Yellow River basin, from 2008 to 2019. The factors affecting the coupling coordination were analyzed by the obstacle factor diagnosis model. The results of the coupling coordination model show that the overall trend of coupling coordination is on the rise, higher in the middle and lower reaches, and the cause of incoherence evolves from ecological lag to tourism lag. According to the results of obstacle factors analysis, the five upstream regions need to expand the market share of the tourism industry on the basis of promoting ecological system and ecological culture; the two midstream regions need to strengthen the market supply of the tourism industry and focus on the ecological civilization cognition; the two downstream regions can continuously strengthen tourism supply on the basis of protecting the ecological environment.
