Abstract

The aim of the paper is an attempt to identify areas of cooperation and causes of conflict in one of the levels of the distribution channel of Volkswagen cars in Poland. In the theoretical part, the characteristics of vertical, horizontal and inter-channel conflicts have been given regarding the sector of motor vehicles and spare parts as well as car repair and maintenance services. In the empirical part, the causes of vertical conflicts in the distribution channel of VW cars in Poland have been identified. The research problem is related to the relationship between the VW general importer with one of the authorized dealers. The information that helps to determine the causes of conflicts is the result of several interviews carried out by the author with the co-owner of the purposely chosen company
