Entrepreneurship In Europe: Approaches, Evolution And Trends

Abstract

Entrepreneurship occupies an increasingly important place on the agenda of the European authorities due of the implications that the domain has. This area is an important factor of the country economy, but also in the global economy. Its direct influence in increasing the number of jobs, and, correlated, in reducing the unemployment rate, lead to the GDP growth. Thus, entrepreneurship impacts the enhancement of the population social status and the stabilization of the economy. This paper aims to present the stage of the entrepreneurship development in Europe, the main approaches of the entrepreneur and entrepreneurship concept, as well as the trends in the evolution of entrepreneurship, at European level and in Romania. The paper highlights the theoretical and introductory aspects of entrepreneurship in Europe, but also the direct relationship between the smooth functioning of a country's small and medium-sized enterprises, in connection with the balance of the international market and policies implemented by the European Council.
