“Sin sangre en la cara…”: (des) honestidad, normas sociales y procesos económicos

Abstract

En base al método de Mazar et al. (2008), el presente estudio investiga sobre el grado de (des) honestidadenelqueincurrenlosindividuos. Se llevaron acabodosexperimentosconductuales en los que participaron 685 estudiantes de dos facultades de la Universidad Mayor de San Simón (UMSS). Ambos experimentos generaron, mediante análisis de varianza (ANOVA) y pruebas de suma de rangos de Kruskal-Wallis, dos hechos fundamentales: i) los individuos son deshonestos, aunque sin llegar al máximo nivel de engaño, y ii) la descripción de un contexto que involucra discernimiento moral incentiva en mayor grado a la honestidad en estudiantes de Ciencias Humanas, en contraste con los estudiantes de Ciencias Económicas. Ambas evidencias corroboran, por un lado, que la toma de decisiones de los agentes está influenciada por un conglomerado de normas informales, asumidas individualmente y/o determinadas socialmente y, por otro, ponen en duda el postulado del homo economicus.
