Impacto de los nuevos trenes AVE sobre la movilidad

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza los impactos de la nueva red de alta velocidad que se está construyendo en España. A partir de la estimación de un logit multinomial se calculan elasticidades con respecto a variables fundamentales (tiempo de viaje, frecuencia y precio). Los resultados indican que las decisiones de los individuos dependen de forma importante del tiempo de viaje, por lo que puede esperarse que los trenes de alta velocidad aumenten significativamente la cuota de mercado del ferrocarril por los ahorros de tiempo que ofrecen. No obstante, los efectos son diferentes según el tipo de ruta y varían según la posible reacción de las compañías aéreas.
