Abstract

[eng] The fact that current payments deficits are narrower than trade deficits explains the renewed interest of economists for the flows of invisibles. Indeed, the emergence of important services surplus or deficits explains an increasing part of current exchanges balances. The study of the exchanges of services in the six main developped countries will help determining the exact organisation of the invisibles flows within the current exchange balance, especially their role in counterbalancing the possible trade deficits.
