Abstract

[eng] The role of agents' heterogeneity in an imperfect labor market. . We consider two models where both workers and firms are heterogeneous and where the competition in the labor market is imperfect. The main difference between these two approaches is the type of heterogeneity considered and the nature of job matching. In the first model, workers and firms are differentiated by their type of specialization whereas in the second one the heterogeneity is due to differences in qualification levels. We then study the properties of the two models and we compare them. We show in particular that employment policies are either local or more systematic depending on the type of job matching.
