Abstract
[eng] An application of the « equivalent-travail « method : the evolution of the French productive system between 1971 and 1975. . The « equivalent-travail » method is an attempt to value the direct and indirect labor content of the output of commodities by using input-output techniques. Part I gives a brief account of the difficulties of implementing the method and of the assumptions required to obtain an operational model.. Part II presents some thoughts suggested by this valuation method. First, we work out a satisfactory statistical relation between the variation of the productivity of the total labor embodied in a branch production (i. e. the direct labor and the embodied in its intermediate inputs) and the price evolution of the branch output. The productivity-inflation relation is improved when one considerg the productivity of the indirect labor.. Secondly, we observe over the entire period a continuous deceleration of labor productivity gains, with an absolute lowering in 1975. The évolution is different according to sectors and branches these differences are explained : (i) by the direct labor productivity ; (n) by the unequal opportunity, for each activity to take advantage of transfers of productivity gains (via the indirect labor used).
