The tendancy towards levelling of the profit rate between capitalists, from competition, though being true, if it is deduced from the marxist axiomatic, gives rise to several paradoxes and even contradictions. Introducing global profit next to profit of the firm, with the help of « value added » and G.N.P., throws a clear light on the fundamental concept of exploitation, distinguishes between qualitative and quantitative exploitation, and provides objective judgment criteria.
