Abstract

[fre] L'objet de cet article est d'analyser les processus d'internationalisation des industries alimentaires en relation avec les stratégies des firmes. Dans un premier temps ont été mises en relief la diversité des modes d'internationalisation et les stratégies opérationnelles des firmes. Ces dernières, qu'elles relèvent de la recherche de compétitivité par les coûts ou par la différenciation, impliquent des décisions d'internationalisation. Dans un second temps, les stratégies structurelles des firmes ont été étudiées ; elles font apparaître que les firmes multinationales sont des acteurs majeurs des processus d'internationalisation des industries alimentaires et sont à la base d'une dynamique d'ensemble du secteur. [eng] On the internationalization of food industries and the strategies of firms . In this first part of this paper the internationalization process of food industries is analyzed in connection with firms' strategies. Particular stress is laid on the various types of internationalization and the operational policies of firms. Those strategies, whether they arise from a search for competitiveness by means of cost or differentiation, involve decisions in the field of internationalization. . In a second part, the structural strategies of firms are dealt with. It is shown that multinational firms play a major role in the internationalization of food industries and constitute the foundation stone of the whole food sector dynamics.
