Abstract

[eng] The disappearance of entreprises by business failure is mostly studied on the level of Management or Macroeconomics. A third approach is retained here : the sectorial level of the Industry stricto sensu. From previous analysis the variables of a transverse model with temporal lags are set up, and applied on 32 industrial sectors for the 1980-1983 period. The results indicate the existence of a failure risk independent of the practiced activity. The best variable is the rate of firm's creation three years before.
