Abstract

[eng] The Efficiency Wage and the Job-Seeking Theory: Job-to-Job Mobility . Professional mobility phenomena could explain persistent unemployment rates. Two of the theories that look at these phenomena from complementary angles are the efficiency wage theory and the job-seeking theory. . The article starts by presenting the main theoretical models. Then the search for a job by people in work is estimated using a sample whereby the wage received is an explanatory variable. The probability of looking for another job emerges as a decreasing function of the wage received. The wage also interacts with other explanatory variables such as qualifications, sex, marital status and the type of employment contract. Les phénomènes liés à la mobilité professionnelle peuvent expliquer l'existence d'un taux de chômage persistant. Deux ensembles de théories, parmi d'autres, envisagent ces nomènes sous des aspects complémentaires : la théorie du salaire d'efficience et la théorie de la recherche d'emploi. Après une présentation de ces principaux modèles théoriques, la recherche d'emploi des personnes employées fait l'objet d'une estimation à partir d'un échantillon qui retient le salaire perçu comme variable explicative. La probabilité de recherche d'un autre emploi apparaît comme une fonction décroissante du salaire perçu. Le salaire intervient également de façon croisée avec d'autres variables explicatives comme le diplôme, le sexe, la situation matrimoniale et le type du contrat de travail. Zwei der bestehenden Theorien befassen sich mit diesen Phànomenen unter komplementâren Aspek- ten, und zwar die Théorie des Effizienzlohns und die Théorie der Arbeitsuche. . Nach einer Darstellung dieser wichtigsten theoretischen Modelle wird die Arbeitsuche der beschàftigten Personen anhand einer Stichprobe geschàtzt, bei der der erhaltene Lohn als explikative Variable gewâhlt wird. Die Wahr- scheinlichkeit, daB eine andere Beschàftigung gesucht wird, erscheint als eine abnehmende Funktion des bezogenen Lohns. Der Lohn spielt auBerdem gemeinsam mit anderen explikativen Variablen eine Rolle, wie beispielsweise dem Diplom, dem Geschlecht, dem Familienstand und der Art des Arbeitsvertrages.
