Abstract

Robert Chambers outlines some key approaches to poverty and ways to end it through participatory approaches. He suggests that while poverty may never be made history, a sharp reduction can be achieved if powerful professionals become more participatory and get closer to and learn more from those who live their lives in poverty; and then act on what they experience, learn and feel.
