Abstract

The WSI Report on Minimum Wages 2015 gives an overview on the current developments of minimum wages in Europe and selected non-European countries. Drawing on the WSI Minimum Wage Database the report provides current data on the level and development of statutory minimum wages. For the first time in a longer time period there was a relatively large increase of minimum wages in 2014. In most countries minimum wage earners received an increase in real wages. However, in most cases the absolute level of minimum wages remains rather low so that discussions on more substantial increases are likely to continue.
