El aporte del turismo al desarrollo local: condicionantes y posibilidades

Abstract

Al abordar el tema del turismo y su posible aporte al desarrollo local; se observa que en la práctica turística intervienen agentes económicos con participación determinante en la definición de sus modalidades, por lo que la actividad está sujeta a las reglas imperantes del mercado. Además, esta modalidad está inserta en una sociedad en la que el acceso a las distintas formas de consumo es un valor en sí mismo y una medida de distinción, acceso y pertenencia a diferentes sectores sociales. En este contexto, puede observarse cómo, en general, el devenir de la actividad turística escapa al control de agentes y actores locales, imponiéndose una lógica exógena contradictoria al desarrollo local. Contrariamente a esto, se plantea que el aporte del turismo al desarrollo local, será más real, cuanto más endógena sea la lógica económica y cultural de las modalidades turísticas.
