Abstract

The article gives a short introduction to the field of arts for health and wellbeing in Finland, where an Art and Culture for Well-being Program 2010- 2014 has been adopted by the Finnish government. It also refers how related research projects and activities are carried out mainly at University level, and it gives account of some of the most interesting current projects. The article questions also about concepts that are used in the field of arts, health & wellbeing. The author calls for clearness in vocabulary and the concepts that are used generally in the field, focusing in particular on issues drawn from the Slow Thinking Lab for Creative Wellbeing. One of the questions that the article raises is what is well-being and how can it be promoted not just at a personal level, but even in groups of individuals or in a community as a whole.
