Abstract

La categoria dei «costi di vendita» proposta da Edward Chamberlin nella "Teoria della concorrenza monopolistica" spiega persuasivamente il prezzo imposto di rivendita. Ma i "selling costs" di Chamberlin altro non sono se non «costi di transazione» nel senso di Ronald Coase. L'approfondimento della natura di tali costi mette perciò in relazione tra loro il problema teorico più controverso dell'analisi antitrust con la questione del costo sociale, da decenni al centro degli studi di "Law & Economics", aiutandoci a delucidare il processo di formazione dei mercati.
