The Right to Life. Legal Status of the Human Embryo

Abstract

The goal of this paper is to review the contentious problems in the human rights field, specifically the status of the human embryo. Since the technology to create human embryos in a lab became accessible, ethical concerns have persisted, highlighting the embryo's vulnerable status. The embryo is a part of another person's body throughout pregnancy and does not have a separate legal status from his mother. Defining the right to life and who is entitled to it is the first step in contouring the special status of the human embryo considering its potential to become a human being.
