Bankverseny Magyarországon
[Banking competition in Hungary]

Abstract

A magyar bankrendszerben jelentős átalakulás ment végbe az elmúlt tíz évben. Új - a fejlett pénzügyi rendszerű országokból érkező - szereplők léptek piacra, vagy vették át meglévő bankok irányítását, korábbi monopolisztikus pozíciók erodálódtak, megváltozott a piac szerkezete, erősödött a nemzetközi versenynek való kitettség. Vajon mindezek hatására a versenypiac magatartásjegyei jellemzővé váltak-e a magyar bankszektorban? A versenyhelyzetről egyrészt a piaci struktúra és hatékonyság kapcsolatának elemzésével, másrészt a bankok versengő magatartását vizsgáló modellek becslésével próbálunk képet alkotni. A bankverseny különböző jegyeit megragadó elemzések ellentmondásos képet nyújtanak a magyar bankszektorról. Miközben a homogén hitelpiacot és árelfogadó betétpiacot feltételező magatartási modellek monopolisztikus versenyviszonyok között érvényesülő erős árversenyt tükröznek, addig a lakossági hitelek és betétek piacain a verseny gyengeségére utaló rugalmatlanság figyelhető meg.
