Hozzászólás az elmaradt minimálbérvitához
[Contribution to an omitted debate on the minimum wage]

Abstract

A magyar kormány 2001-ben 57 százalékkal emelte a minimálbért, e sorok írásakor pedig újabb 25-44 százalékos emelésről tárgyal az immár egyetértő szakszervezetekkel. A tanulmány e lépés foglalkoztatási következményeinek felméréséhez szeretne támpontokat nyújtani. Az elemzés a transzlog költségfüggvényből származtatott, heterogén munkát feltételező tényezőkeresleti függvényeken alapul. A becslések szerint a nagyvállalatok képzetlen munkaerő iránti keresletét magas saját bérrugalmasság jellemzi, továbbá nagyfokú helyettesíthetőség a képzetlen munka és a tőke között. Az eredmények alapján valószínűtlennek tűnik, hogy a minimálbér megduplázása ne csökkentse az alacsony bérű munkavállalók iránti keresletet, még ha igaz is, hogy e hatást (elvileg) különböző kereslet-, illetve kínálatoldali tényezők ellensúlyozhatják.
