Abstract

A tanulmány szerkesztett változata annak az előadásnak, amelyben a szerző öt kérdéskörben fejtette ki gondolatait a közgazdaság-tudomány és elsősorban a magyarországi kutatás és oktatás helyzetéről. Az általa felvetett témakörök - 1. a közgazdász választott nyelve (matematika versus próza), 2. az alkalmazott kutatási stratégia (Berlin [1953] sün-róka metaforája), 3. főáramon belül vagy kívül, 4. politikán belül vagy kívül, 5. a tanácsadói szerep vállalásának dilemmái - mind a közgazdász-társadalom legaktuálisabb kérdéseit feszegetik. A szakmája és a társadalom iránt elkötelezett szerző nemcsak saját kutatói elveiről vall, de sorra veszi a számára tolerálható alternatív elveket is.
