Miért elégedetlenek annyira a magyarok az életükkel?. A szubjektív jóllétet befolyásoló tényezők mikroszintű összehasonlító elemzése magyar és osztrák adatokon
[Why are Hungarians dissatisfied?. A micro-level comparative analysis based on Hungarian and Austrian data on subjective well-being]

Abstract

Az ország fejlettségi szintjéhez képest a magyarok kirívóan elégedetlenek az életükkel. Eközben Ausztria, mellyel sok a kulturális és történelmi hasonlóság, az elégedettségi listák élmezőnyéhez tartozik. Magyar és osztrák háztartási szintű adatokon becsülve a szubjektív jóllétet meghatározó tényezők hatását, megállapítottuk, hogy a magyarok szubjektív jóllétét leginkább a rossz egészségi állapot rontja. Magyarországon a szakmunkásvégzettség egyáltalán nem növeli a szubjektív jóllétet, csak a felsőfokú végzettségnek van markáns hatása. Ausztriában viszont már a szakmunkásvégzettség is növeli az elégedettséget. Ott erősebb a pár-, a rokoni és a baráti kapcsolatok ilyen irányú hatása is. A munkanélküliség a jövedelemhatáson túl is rontja a szubjektív jóllétet, és ez a hatás, Ausztriával ellentétben, továbbterjed a családtagokra. Ennek oka lehet az, hogy meginoghat a lakhatás biztonsága, ami Ausztriában részben a nagyobb bérlakásszektor miatt nem következik be. A magyar vállalkozók átlagosnál nagyobb elégedettsége nagy valószínűséggel az eltitkolt jövedelem következménye. Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) kód: I31, I14, C25, D60, O57.
