Inclusión financiera de los receptores de remesas en México

Abstract

El objetivo del artículo es conocer el impacto de las cuatro dimensiones financieras sobre la probabilidad de inclusión financiera de los receptores de remesas. Un modelo Probit ayuda a reflejar esa asociación, se estima sus efectos marginales usando los datos disponibles del módulo sobre remesas internacionales de la Encuesta ENIF 2015. Los resultados reflejan la importancia del "uso" de instrumentos financieros para la IF de los receptores, mucho más que contar con ingresos elevados; en tanto el acceso y conocimiento financiero tiene efecto variante. Una recomendación derivada del análisis es que en el horizonte post-Covid se puede acelerar la marcha para aumentar la bancarización de los receptores de remesas. La limitación para este tipo de análisis es la disponibilidad de datos, en tanto la última versión de la ENIF eliminó la sección de remesas internacionales; sin embargo, la originalidad del estudio está en analizar a los receptores y su proximidad al sistema financiero. Recibir remesas no implica necesariamente participar del sistema, los receptores están condicionados en distinto grado al uso y acceso financiero, y sobre ello se debe poner atención.
