Abstract

Efficient transportation is indispensable for productivity enhancement of operations and services as well as economic growth and prosperity. In this study, we propose the development of a high-speed surface transportation corridor and compatible vehicles. We present a conceptual framework for this corridor and vehicle. This proposed concept will improve the efficiency, flexibility, convenience, and environmental impact of transporting people and materials. Our concept is to have trucks and cars travel through these corridors at speeds of over 250 mph without discontinuity. These vehicles will have the ability to use existing roads as well as the proposed corridor.
