Abstract

The objective of this research is to identify and rank the critical success factors in the implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies in small and medium enterprises of northern India. A significant and reasonable number of small and medium scale manufacturing enterprises have been surveyed in order to obtain highly reliable data. The VIKOR method has been applied in order to measure the weightage of each success factor in a simple mathematical form and rank them accordingly. An action plan to overcome barriers and successfully implement advanced manufacturing technologies by following the critical success factors has been suggested. This paper includes various classifications and merits of advanced manufacturing technologies. This research can help enterprises in overcoming barriers in the implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies.
