Abstract

El artículo está referido a como el turismo sostenible puede contribuir al Desarrollo Local y a la competitividad territorial; para ello, se desarrollaron tres estudios de casos en América Latina, en donde existen procesos de desarrollo local y el turismo contribuye a esos procesos. Los lugares son: La Mancomunidad la Chiquitania en Bolivia; Suchitoto en El Salvador y Bijagua, en Costa Rica. El primero corresponde a una escala regional, Suchitoto a una escala municipal, y Bijagua a una escala Cantonal.
