Estafa E Ingeniería Financiera: El Caso De La Caja De Ahorros Del Mediterráneo

Abstract

miles de familias españolas han sido estafadas y han perdido sus ahorros en el proceso que ha conducido a la desaparición de la Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo (CAM); a causa de la comercialización masiva de activos financieros complejos como las participaciones preferentes o las cuotas participativas entre clientes poco informados. Finalmente Banco CAM, con un patrimonio neto de 2.472 millones de euros, fue vendido a Banco de Sabadell por 1 €; y los clientes se han visto obligados a canjear sus activos para conseguir liquidez, con importantes pérdidas de capital. Esto demuestra el fallo en los sistemas de supervisión (Directiva MIFID).
