Abstract

The relationship between the diffuse fraction (Hd/Ho) and the clearness index (Hg/Ho) is obtained from the radiation data measured at Valencia and Sevilla during parts or most of the period from January 1988 through December 1991. New information concerning the dependence of this correlation upon different periods of the year has been obtained. Comparison with the results proposed by D. C. Erbs, S. A. Klein and J. A. Duffie [Solar Energy28, 293 (1982)] and M. Vazquez, V. Ruiz and R. Perez [Solar Energy47, 181 (1991)] is presented.
