Abstract

The authors defined the main topics and sub-topics in the area of solar energy, which need to be included in pre-university science curricula. In view of these findings, a content analysis of 29 “Unified Gulf Arab States Science Books” was conducted, in order to define the depth of the material which they contained in the area of solar energy education. Consequently, the authors presented a proposed guideline treatment to help in incorporating, within the unified school science curricula of the Gulf Arab States, the appropriate and adequate topics in the area of solar energy. These are to be introduced in the science curricula in a graded sequence throughout the different stages of schooling.
