Abstract

A computational model for the calculation of the vibrational (Raman and infrared) spectra of isolated structural units of SiO4 tetrahedra with different degree of Si-O-Si bridging angles and topological disorder is developed. Numerical results for the isotropic Raman spectra of planar and puckered rings of regular SiO4 tetrahedra of order n = 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 are reported.
