Abstract

This study analyses the relation between network news reporting, information transparency, and corporate technological innovation. Results indicate that network news reporting can promote corporate technological innovation with information transparency playing an intermediary role. These findings are supported by robustness tests and endogeneity analyses. Heterogeneity analyses show that the technological innovation promotion effect of network news coverage was more significant for corporations with low information transparency than for those with high information transparency.
