Abstract

The ability to manage change has become an important management skill. The change process can be bewildering and unsettling to all employees and sometimes suppliers and customers as well. Even though the short term impact on the organisation and its people can be dysfunctional, if change is necessary for corporate survival and growth it must be achieved smoothly and speedily and with minimum adverse effect on employee morale, motivation and commitment. Organisational effectiveness and profitability should not suffer either. Effective implementation is the key to achieving change successfully. This article proposes a change management model which the author has found useful in his consulting work.
