Non-iterative isothermal flash calculations

Abstract

An approximate, non-iterative isothermal flash calculation method has been developed. Results derived from this procedure are compared with exact calculations. The vapor and liquid flow rates predicted by the use of this method provide good initial values for more exact flash calculations or for direct applications when approximate solutions are sufficient in early process evaluations.
