Renta per cápita como medida de desarrollo económico en Latinoamérica

Abstract

Las autoridades económicas y los responsables dela política social en los países latinoamericanos hanvenido haciendo esfuerzos para mejorar las condicionesde vida de la población, mediante la generaciónde una renta per cápita sostenida, que conduzca amejorar los indicadores de desarrollo económico ya reducir los niveles de pobreza de la región. Estedocumento evidencia, por medio de la metodologíade la estadística descriptiva, que las principales variablesde desarrollo económico están influenciadaspor el PIB per cápita en Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil,Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador,México y Perú. De acuerdo a la evidencia empíricase puede concluir que Argentina es el país que másinversión realiza en educación, seguridad social ysalud, debido a que sus tasas de crecimiento económicohan sido estables en un lapso considerable,mientras que Bolivia es el país que registra la menorinversión pública social, explicado por su bajo desempenoeconómico.
