Estudio comparativo de rendimientos empresariales de hombres y mujeres en México: una aproximación empírica

Abstract

El objetivo de la investigación es comparar el rendimiento de los ingresos de los emprendedores, para determinar si existen diferencias entre los obtenidos por emprendimientos realizados por hombres y aquellos realizados por mujeres. Asimismo, se pretende establecer qué factores impulsan el emprendimiento de las mujeres. Se utiliza la base de datos de la Encuesta Nacional de Ingresos y Gastos de los Hogares (INEGI, 2017), de donde se obtuvo una muestra de 296 mujeres y 430 hombres. Se generó un modelo econométrico Probit mediante la metodología disenada por Heckman, Tobias y Vytalcil (2000, 2001), empleando un proceso bietápico. Se incluyen como variables independientes el tipo de hogar, el tamano de la empresa, la edad y la experiencia. El rendimiento de los ingresos por emprendimiento es la variable dependiente. Los principales hallazgos permiten afirmar que los rendimientos de las empresas de mujeres son menores que los de las empresas de hombres, y que las mujeres emprenden, generalmente, por necesidad.
