Sobreeducación en las ciencias económicas, administrativas e ingenierías en el área metropolitana de Cali, 2001-2005

Abstract

En este estudio se analiza e infiere la sobreeducación en las áreas profesionales de economía, contaduría, administración e ingenierías en el Área Metropolitana de Cali (AMC), la información que se emplea proviene de una encuesta aplicada a los egresados de cuatro universidades en el período 2001-2005. Con esta información, se realizan las inferencias correspondientes y se formula un modelo logit para identificar los factores que influyen en la sobreeducación. Los resultados más importantes, muestran que existe una disminución de la sobreeducación de 48.02% a 38.57% del primer empleo al empleo actual.Los factores que explican la sobreeducación en el primer y actual empleo son: el género, estar vinculado como empleado privado, en la actividad de servicios, en micro y pequenas empresas, a través de canales de búsqueda informales, y ser egresado de las carreras de las ciencias económicas y administrativas.
