Análisis sobre la evolución reciente del sector de transporte en Colombia

Abstract

Resumen: el sector transporte juega un papel importante en la consolidación de los procesos de globalización y de competitividad en Colombia. En este sentido, se está presenciando una transformación dentro de este sector, acentuada por el crecimiento de la población urbana. Este artículo pretende realizar un análisis descriptivo del sector transporte en Colombia durante los últimos anos, adoptando la metodología planteada por el DANE. Algunas de las conclusiones a las que se puede llegar son: el claro comportamiento procíclico entre el PIB nacional y el consumo privado con respecto al sector transporte y la inexistencia de complementariedad entre el transporte público tradicional y los sistemas de transporte masivo.
