Los activos financieros en Colombia: estimación de sistemas de demanda

Abstract

El objetivo de este artículo es determinar cuáles son los grados de sustitución existente entre los activos. Para este propósito se presentan dos modelos. En el primero se sigue la metodología sugerida por Gramlich y Kalchbrenner y en el segundo se utiliza la forma funcional presentada en el Modelo Casi Ideal de Demanda, propuesto por Deaton y Muellbauer.La principal conclusión encontrada en este estudio es que los medios de pago presentan relaciones moderadas con los demás activos, esto es, presenta niveles de sustitución bajos tanto con los activos financieros como con los físicos. Cambios en las tasas de interés de los activos, diferentes a M1, logran efectos de recomposición de los cuasidineros en el portafolio, mas no de los medios de pago.
