Un modelo cuasi-Solow" y el caso de la tasa de ahorro endógena"

Abstract

De acuerdo con Weil (2009), uno de los hechos estilizados del crecimiento económico internacional es una asociación positiva entre las tasas de ahorro y los niveles de ingreso per cápita. En este documento se propone una interpretación de tal hecho adicional a la que surge del propio modelo de Solow, mediante uno casi similar pero ampliado con la hipótesis de una influencia positiva del capital sobre la tasa de ahorro. El modelo así modificado, un modelo cuasi-Solow", puede generar un caso de "crecimiento endógeno" o el caso del crecimiento exógeno, dependiendo uno u otro caso del valor específico que tome un parámetro de la función de ahorro. La conclusión principal es la siguiente: un modelo de crecimiento económico que es, en lo esencial, "solowniano", como el expuesto en estas páginas, puede ser útil para interpretar procesos de crecimiento económico bastante prolongados a través del tiempo."
