Inversión, q de Tobin, e incertidumbre en la industria colombiana

Abstract

Explora la relación existente entre las decisiones de inversión de las firmas privadas en Colombia durante el boom" de los primeros anos de la presente década y de la incertidumbre provocada por las variables macroeconómicas durante ese período a la luz de la "nueva teoría de la inversión". El estudio es pionero en analizar el efecto de la incertidumbre agregada a las fluctuaciones económicas sobre la inversión industrial. Los principales hallazgos indican que para las firmas esperar a recibir más información es una política óptima. Adicionalmente encuentra que la incertidumbre del precio de los bienes de capital, reflejada sobre la tasa de cambio, produjo un efecto leve pero significativamente positivo que aceleró la adquisición de maquinaria y equipo. La apropiación seguida se basa en un modelo "q" de Tobin en el que la valoración de la firma se obtiene mediante métodos financieros."
