Zur Effizienz deutscher Universitäten und deren Entwicklung zwischen 2004 und 2015

Abstract

Mit der Exzellenzinitiative hat man in Deutschland den Versuch unternommen, die Homogenität in der Hochschullandschaft aufzubrechen und die Heterogenität zu erhöhen. Die vorliegende Studie zeigt, wie sich die Effizienz deutscher Universitäten zwischen 2004 und 2015 entwickelt hat. Den Ergebnissen nach ist die Effizienz der Universitäten sehr ähnlich und hat sich über die Zeit wenig geändert. Auch wenn es nur fünf Universitäten gibt, die über den gesamten betrachteten Zeitraum durchgängig effizient sind, bewegen sich die Effizienzwerte der restlichen Universitäten generell auf einem vergleichbaren Niveau. Die deutsche Universitätslandschaft ist eher durch Homogenität als durch Heterogenität gekennzeichnet. Es existieren keine »Leuchttürme der Forschung«, wie sie beispielsweise mit der Harvard University in den USA und der University of Cambridge in Großbritannien vorliegen.
