Beschäftigungsentwicklung im Handel: Besteht ein Arbeitskräftemangel in der Branche?

Abstract

Parallel zur guten konjunkturellen Lage in Deutschland hat sich der Arbeitsmarkt in den vergangenen Jahren sehr günstig entwickelt. Der hohen Anzahl der Beschäftigten steht ein deutlich gestiegener Anteil an offenen Arbeitsstellen gegenüber. Die zunehmenden Schwierigkeiten, diese offenen Stellen zu besetzen, zeigen sich in den vom ifo Institut im Rahmen der Konjunkturumfragen erhobenen Daten. Im Handel sind vor allem die Investitions- bzw. Gebrauchsgüter betroffen. Ein verstärkter Lohnanstieg ist innerhalb der Branche jedoch nicht festzustellen. Hier ist allerdings auch zu beachten, dass die Digitalisierung zu einem Aufweichen der Grenzen zwischen den einzelnen Branchen führt. Angesichts der teilweise völlig neuen Qualifikationsanforderungen wird ein Teil der Aufgaben an handelsfremde Branchen ausgelagert, wie beispielsweise IT-Dienstleister oder spezialisierte Anbieter bzw. Beratungsfirmen.
