Neuerungen im Ifo World Economic Survey

Abstract

Die internationale Konjunkturbefragung des ifo Instituts, der Ifo World Economic Survey, erfährt ab 2017 drei Neuerungen: In Analogie zum ifo Geschäftsklima wird die Saldenmethodik angewandt, für die Aggregation zu Ländergruppen wird das Bruttoinlandsprodukt verwendet, und die Ländergruppen werden in Anlehnung an die Definition des Internationalen Währungsfonds abgegrenzt. Durch die Umstellung auf Saldenmethodik werden die Umfrageergebnisse nun nach internationalem Standard präsentiert. Somit dürften die Daten in Zukunft intuitiver und leichter zu interpretieren sein. Auch die neu erstellten Länderaggregate sowie die neuen Ländergewichte dürften den Nutzern entgegenkommen, da die Konstruktion der WES-Konjunkturindikatoren den von internationalen Organisationen verwendeten Standards entspricht.
