Zahl der Geburten in Deutschland nimmt drastisch ab

Abstract

Die Zahl der neugeborenen Kinder ist in Deutschland in den letzten beiden Jahren deutlich zurückgegangen, vor allem in Ostdeutschland. Zum Teil ist dies auf eine rückläufige Zahl der Frauen im gebärfähigen Alter und auf ein Vorziehen von Geburten im Zuge der Corona-Pandemie zurückzuführen. Offenbar haben die globalen Krisen der letzten beiden Jahre aber auch viele junge Paare davon abgehalten, jetzt Kinder zu bekommen. Es ist bislang nicht absehbar, ob sich das Gebärverhalten mittelfristig wieder an bisherige Trendverläufe anpassen wird.
