Vom Regen in die Traufe – Umsatzentwicklung im sächsischen Gastgewerbe im Jahr 2020

Abstract

Seit mehr als einem Jahr hinterlässt die Corona-Pandemie tiefe Spuren in der Wirtschaft und legt teilweise ganze Wirtschaftszweige lahm. Als besonders betroffen gilt das Gastgewerbe. Eine Analyse der Umsatzentwicklung im Jahr 2020 im sächsischen Gastgewerbe zeigt, dass die Unternehmen insbesondere in den Lockdown-Monaten von März bis April sowie ab November erhebliche Umsatzverluste im Vergleich zum Vorjahr hinzunehmen hatten, aber auch in den Sommermonaten häufig unter Vorjahresniveau blieben. Insgesamt lagen die Umsätze im Jahr 2020 in der Beherbergung gut 40% unter Vorjahresniveau, die Gastronomie verzeichnete ein Umsatzminus von 30%. Besonders hart getroffene Wirtschaftsgruppen sind der Ausschank von Getränken sowie Hotels, Gasthöfe und Pensionen. Campingplätze dagegen profitierten sogar leicht von der Entwicklung.
